Questions that you may have:
1. What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday thru Friday 8:00am-5:30pm and Saturday by appointment. We recommend that for estimates you call in advance so we are prepared to go over the damages with you and minimize your time in our office.
2. Do I need to get 3 estimates?
No, there is no State Law requiring you get 3 estimates. You, the vehicle owner, decide where you would like to get your vehicle repaired. Most insurance companies understand that until your vehicle is disassembled completely it is hard to determine an exact price to restore your vehicle to pre-accident condition. We try to make the experience as hassle-free as possible.
3. Are the repairs at C.B.S collision centers more expensive than other auto body shops in the area?
No. Christiana Body Shop collision centers are comparably priced with other shops in the marketplace. We work directly with insurance carriers to negotiate a fair settlement for the cost of repairs and when paying out-of-pocket provide an honest and fair assessment of repairs.
4. What if I need a rental?
For your convenience, we will make all the arrangements for you to minimize time and inconvenience when dropping off or picking up your vehicle.
5. Can I get a ride home or to work when I drop-off my vehicle?
Yes. We want this to be a positive experience and will try to accommodate you. We offer complimentary pickup and delivery within a five mile radius of the facilities.
6. How long will it take to repair my vehicle?
We realize that having your vehicle repaired is an inconvenience. At Christiana Body Shop collision centers we do a number of things to make this process as hassle-free as possible from having a rental vehicle waiting for you, to ordering your parts prior to drop-off. We have a team of professionals that do everything possible to have your vehicle repaired in a timely matter and we provide a fast and efficient repair process that is above industry leading cycle times. When you drop-off your vehicle for repairs we give you a specific target date. You can follow the process and view photos through our Auto Watch program. Any questions or concerns can be handled through email.
7. What if my vehicle had frame damage?
Nowadays, most cars are built using unibody construction where frames and body are one unit. With state of the art measuring systems, your vehicle can be returned to original factory specifications. If it is determined that a frame section is bent beyond repair, that section is simply replaced instead of repaired.
8. What are betterment charges?
Parts that wear out and need to be replaced in the restoring of your vehicle are subject to betterment charges. Common examples of this are batteries, tires, and suspension parts. These betterment
charges are pro-rated by your insurance company, based on the actual miles on your vehicle.
9. Can you match the paint color?
Christiana Body Shop collision centers made a major investment in Spies Hecker, the finest paint system available. Spies Hecker is constantly upgrading its technology and equipment to ensure that the paint on your vehicle will match. We take pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the repair process.
10. Do you offer warranty?
We offer a written warranty on repairs. We also do not pro-rate our paint work on repairs. The repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle. This warranty is provided at pick-up with the final bill.
11. Who do I pay my deuctible to?
It is the policy of insurance carriers that you pay the deductible directly to the shop, either at the time of drop-off or at pick-up of your vehicle.
12. What forms of payment do you take?
The most convenient way of payment is major credit card. We welcome MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express; however we do not take credit cards over the phone.
Personal Check (under $600), insurance check, or cash are also welcomed.
13. After my vehicle is fixed, when can I wash my car?
Your vehicle has already been hand washed prior to pick-up, so you may hand wash at anytime. However, the paint is fresh for the next 30 days so avoid commercial car washes. Rinse immediately if any tree sap or bird droppings get on your car but do not use a dry towel to remove it or dry your vehicle. We encourage, after 30 days, to wax your vehicle to help preserve the finish.
